​Within our Social Housing Planned and Responsive Repair works programs, you will work both from home/office and on site, collaborating with your team in an environment that is inclusive and fair for everyone.

Leading your team of commercially focused colleagues to ensure we obtain and evaluate information to guarantee a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials, and services for designated Social Housing, tenanted, planned works refurbishments and responsive repairs. Whilst liaising with Contractors, Suppliers and Clients to ensure information, costs, profitability and value meet the requirements of designated project/contracts.

​An outline of your responsibility as a  Managing Quantity Surveyor

  • Managing the commercials of the sub regional office, typically consisting of multiple projects at one time.
  • Supporting with the forecasting and future projections for the sub region.
  • Managing the CVR process on a monthly basis for all sub regional contracts, with the support of the Surveyors.
  • Monitoring the contract’s progress and reporting any changes that may affect project costs and/ or time scale.
  • Managing the controls around individual contract budgets.
  • Preparing and monitoring cash flow forecast for designated projects.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly applications for payment to the client or client’s representative.
  • Submitting invoices for certified value and ensuring payments are received on time.
  • Valuing and authorising payments to sub-contractors 
  • Assisting in the preparation, processing and selection of estimates, bids, and tenders
  • Liaising with contract managers to establish the project specification and requirements
  • Assisting in the development of the procurement programme.
  • Mentoring and supporting the Surveyors in the region to ensure a strong focus on the commerciality of contracts within your sub region.

 About You

​You will have experience of working as a Managing Quantity Surveyor​ within the Construction industry, it’s essential to have have an understanding of Refurbishments and Responsive repairs within a live environment and a distinct advantage if your experience is within Social Housing, which will give you the knowledge to hit the ground running and contribute effectively to the team. Applicants will ideally have experience of managing a team of QS’s and their workload while also managing your own projects.  We will commit to providing you the support to become a successful Managing Quantity Surveyor. Applicants will have strong commercial acumen, excellent attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills. You will be an expert with IT with proficient MS office skills. You also must hold a Full UK Driving Licence as travel is a must with this role.  The role will also require a DBS check to be completed
