Based: Leighton Buzzard Office; Hybrid working Office/ Sites around Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire/Home . Working 37.5 hours per week, 08:30 – 17:00 Monday – Friday

Leading your team of commercially focused colleagues as our​ Commercial Manageryou will be responsible for the commercial success of our Social Housing Planned Refurbishment and Reactive maintenance programs across Southern Region. Ideally located within close proximity of our offices in Leighton Buzzard or Basingstoke and hybrid working available to suit based on business needs. .

An outline of your responsibility as a Commercial Manager;

  • Accountability for the profitability against a range of differing contracts through a Contract Review process and taking ownership for the bridge between tendered and required margins.
  • Lead your team on, Commercial, Estimating, Surveying, Governance, Procurement and Administration.
  • Manage team performance, Personal Performance Reviews, disciplinary action and learning and development of the team.
  • Act as a source of expertise to support the team on the day to day management and selection of subcontractors for tender enquiries.
  • Accountability for the valuation process ensuring that applications are maximised and made on time and then ensuring that this is converted as a minimum to the contract terms into invoices and cash.
  • Responsible for hitting required cash targets. Production, monitoring and ownership of cashflow forecasts.
  • Assistance with tender production and tender settlement.
  • Identifying new commercial opportunities, and ensure these are processed in a safe and ethical manner.
  • Report to the Head of Operations and Directors on regional CVR performance and provide assurance by taking accountability of delivering on commercials.
  • Mentoring and supporting the Surveyors in the region to ensure a strong focus on the commerciality of contracts within your sub region.

 About You

​You will already be a successful Commercial Manager within the Construction industry, it’s essential to have an understanding of Planned Refurbishments and Reactive Maintenance of Social Housing projects, which will give you the knowledge to hit the ground running and contribute effectively to the team. Applicants will ideally have experience of managing a team of commercial surveyors.  Applicants will have strong commercial acumen, excellent attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills. You will be an expert with IT with proficient MS office skills. You also must hold a Full UK Driving Licence as travel is a must with this role.  The role will also require a DBS check to be completed
