Whitbread PLC – Hotel Refurbishment

Novus Property Solutions commenced work on a major refurbishment and maintenance contract for Whitbread PLC in April 2009. The contract is part of a national framework which includes our Clients Supply Chain Partners.

The sheer scale and volume of work required by this contract, combined with its national geographic footprint, meant that our delivery teams were presented with operational challenges from the outset.

A dedicated contract management team and office were formed to ensure that each regional division of Novus understood how to deliver the works to the agreed standards.

Achieving consistency in the service delivery and administration of the contract across the regions was the product of a concerted team effort to formalise our procedures inline with Whitbread PLC requirements.

Haymarket Premier Inn

Novus Bathgate completed a major refurbishment of the Haymarket Premier Inn in February 2010.

The delivery team took possession of guest rooms at 8am and performed a full refurbishment on the hotel, handing over the completed room at 11am the following morning.

10 rooms and en-suites being prepared, decorated, carpeted, and fitted with bathroom furniture.

Novus also undertook the plumbing, electrical works and furnishings each day.

The management team sequenced a variety of trade activities though a robust daily site schedule.

Total work orders carried out exceeded £1m over a 12 week period which included corridor, atrium, restaurant and bar refurbishments.

Darren Beeby, General Manager for Premier Inn at the Edinburgh City branch commended our Bathgate contract delivery team in the closing stages of the works, stating “I am very happy with the finished product”.
