Trinity Road Refurbishment – Birmingham Children’s Trust
We are pleased to highlight the successful completion of the Trinity Road Refurbishment Project, a key part of the Children’s Trust’s wider programme to modernise their residential estate.
Scope:
The project involved the comprehensive refurbishment of a former children’s home that had been unoccupied for nearly ten years. The building was brought back into use under tight budgetary and programme constraints, with a strong focus on compliance, safety, and creating a homely environment suitable for its future residents. Key works included:
- Installation of new fire doors throughout, ensuring compliance with current fire safety regulations
- Upgrading the sprinkler system to meet the latest standards, providing enhanced protection for residents
- Refurbishment of all internal areas, including new flooring, decorations, and finishes, delivering a high-quality, welcoming environment
- Installation of a new lift, improving accessibility and ensuring the building meets modern operational requirements
- Recommissioning of existing services, carefully brought back online to ensure reliability and compliance
Outcome:
The project was delivered on time and within budget, despite the challenges of working within an older building that had been dormant for a decade. Through careful planning, innovative solutions, and close coordination with the client, the scheme successfully transformed the property into a safe, supportive, and modern residential care setting.
This refurbishment reflects the Children’s Trust’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, fit-for-purpose homes for young people, combining functionality, comfort, and compliance within a thoughtfully restored environment.
