We have a long-term partnership with Bromford Housing Group, delivering several planned workstreams across the Midlands and Southern England, with the majority of works covering roofing, cyclical decorations and passive fire protection works.

Roofing

Our partnership with Bromford started in 2013 when we began to deliver numerous roofing programmes across the Midlands. In 2018, we resecured the roofing programme through competitive tender, through which Novus has been delivering approximately £4m of roofing works every year. The work scope covers full pitched roof replacements, flat roofing replacement and repairs, roofline replacement works, removal of finlock gutters, non-licensed asbestos removal, associated brickwork renewal and repairs. The team have worked on over 1000 properties. Our Southwest Bristol team has worked with Bromford since 2022, re-roofing approximately 100 properties per annum, at a value of approximately £1m per annum.

During our long-standing relationship, we have built up a reliable supply chain of subcontractors and suppliers who work alongside our own directly employed operatives, and fully understand the standards required and are committed to achieve them. Specialist advice and designs are also sought from system manufacturers such as Britmet and Marley.

Cyclical decorations

We have also partnered with Bromford in the Midlands, since 2013, to deliver pre-decoration repairs and cyclical decoration works to a range of properties across Staffordshire, The Marches, and the Central Midlands. In 2021, we were rewarded a place on their new Cyclical Framework, running until September 2026. The scope includes pre-paint repairs of existing painted substrates (doors, frames, canopies, rainwater goods, masonry, fences, windows, fascias, soffits, gates), full replacement of individual substrates, external painting, UPVC wash downs, and internal decoration to communal staircases, sheltered accommodation, women’s refuges, housing centres for the homeless. The paint specification used is Akzo Nobel Dulux paints, including Pyroshield fire retardant paint for specially selected internal schemes. In the 2023/24 financial year, we completed work to 4,834 assets.

Paul Butler Bromford Housing Group Investment Surveyor said “Our customer advocacy score speaks volumes about the exceptional service we provide. With feedback from 251 customers, an overwhelming 99.6% rated their experience positively. This remarkable achievement is a testament to Novus’ commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction”

Passive fire protection

Our partnership with Bromford continued in 2018, when we were awarded a 5+2 contract for the Supply of Replacement, Refurbishment, Repair and Associated Remedial Works with Passive Fire Safety. We have installed approximately 3,891 passive fire protection installations per annum since contract award. The scope includes fire door/frames replacement and repair, fire-resistant glazing, compartmentation, ironmongery, sundries, signage, fire stopping, installation of fire collars and smoke/heat detection systems.

We continue to deliver enhanced community investment and social value. For example, we recently partnered with Bromford to decorate six bedrooms for residents in a women’s refuge in Staffordshire. Paul Butler Bromford Housing Group Investment Surveyor said “This act of kindness undoubtedly made a positive impact on the lives of the women and children residing there. I extend my gratitude to Novus for delivering the work and to Dulux for their donation”.

Building a legacy where people can live, work and thrive.
