Full refurbishment of two mixed-use office and warehouse units
The two units were located on the Kings Norton Trading Estate in South Birmingham, a thriving business community providing industrial, warehouse, showroom and office accommodation for more than 80 companies.
Units 19 and 21, which are both managed by Ridge Property and Construction Consultants for a leading national insurance company, both required an extensive refurbishment ahead of a new client moving in. We were called in by Ridge to complete the works required on both units at the same time.
Office Refurbishment Project
The project comprised the strip out and refurbishment of the two separate but adjoined industrial units including mechanical and electrical services, roofing works, floors, walls and ceiling finishes. Six operatives from our Birmingham office carried out the works on both units over the course of four weeks.
The main challenge was the initial strip-out phase of the project. With the first unit requiring a full strip out and the second a partial strip out, there was a large amount of debris which had to be safely and efficiently removed before works could get underway.
The first unit also required work to upgrade the electrics and gas as well as roofing works to bring it up to standard. In addition, the operatives created a new office area and kitchen space and installed new male and female toilets. The unit was completed with a full redecoration throughout to give it a fresh new look.
The second unit was also completely refreshed by our team. As well as new roofing works and an electrical upgrade, our operatives installed a new boiler. The team completed the project by fitting a new carpet in the office area and redecorating the unit throughout.
