Park View Apartments

A stunning Grade II listed property in Malvern, Worcestershire, has been completely redecorated externally by our team after consultations with local authority experts and conservation officers to ensure the work would be in keeping with its heritage.
Due to the location of Park View Apartments at the foot of the Malvern Hills, the building had been exposed to the elements which led to the fading and discolouring of paintwork on certain elevations. Timber sash windows had begun to deteriorate, causing water ingress and breakdown of coatings.
In partnership with experts from Dulux, who specified the most suitable product for the external facade, we paid particular attention to previous coatings in order to ensure the building did not suffer the same or similar problems in the future.
So as to retain the period qualities of the property, the colours applied to the exterior by our 14 workers were as close to the existing colours as possible. In order for us to apply the specified coating to all areas of the building, scaffolding was erected to improve access.
Working around residents was a challenge for our team, as in order to paint window frames at the property, each window had to be open. To overcome this, the team communicated with residents and the resident liaison officer to organise and plan ahead, which guaranteed we met our timescales.
As the works were all external, the weather also presented challenges for our team, but undercover areas were completed during wet weather so as to reduce the impact on the programme, client and residents.
Park View Apartments now has improved aesthetics thanks to our work, with a refreshed appearance which has a striking impact on its surroundings. Applying the specification has also protected and preserved the building ahead of its next redecoration cycle.
