NHS Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire

Internal & external refurbishment works
This project involved internal and external refurbishment works to 20 live and operating health centres spread across the City districts.
The works typically involved minor demolition, internal alterations, mechanical and electrical works and specialist services including vinyl flooring, window replacement, fire associated works, roofing works, new sanitary ware and lighting upgrades to meet the operational needs of the health centres.
It was essential that we could suitably interpret and deliver works that were compliant with Health Technical Memorandums (HTMs) and all legislative requirements in a Primary Care clinical environment.
The buildings remained occupied and operational throughout the duration of the works. Flexibility and clear communication was paramount whilst working within live healthcare practices.
Full consideration of the sensitivities of the environment was essential in order to fully meet the Client ’s expectations. Before the start of each project, a pre-start meeting was held with practice managers to discuss works, access issues and processes should circumstances change.
Due to the medical nature of the facilities in question, the core operational hours differed from “normal working hours” with a number of the facilities offering extended opening hours beyond 5 pm and remaining open to the general public 365 days of the year.
