Construction of new Iceland store at Flutters Bingo site

In May 2014, we were appointed by Flutters Leisure Limited to undertake construction of a new Iceland store at the former Flutters Bingo Site at Lancaster Road in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

The project was a turnkey development which involved the demolition of a former Bingo Hall and construction of a new 700m2 Iceland supermarket and 1,500m2 car park facility.

The former bingo hall feature façade was retained as part of the demolition works which involved careful separation of the hall from the surrounding high street retail shops.

The single storey steel framed building was designed and built with part brick/part metal profile, clad external walls, aluminium fenestrations and metal profiled roof coverings.

External foundation designs utilised continuous flight augured piles taken through the existing peat bed to a firm bearing strata.

The store’s plant deck was hidden behind the oversized parapet structures.
