The Warrington office have undertaken works to the frontage of Cobbett House, a grade 2 Listed building on the Manchester University Hospitals campus.
Details of the project
This scheme forms part of the Manchester corridor works and brings the frontage up to date, with the installation of new wrought iron gates, resin paths, new block paving, new steps and pedestrian and traffic access.
The scheme has been completed in phases, which saw the re-design of public access and the calming of traffic using speed ramps. The formation of new access from Oxford Road, with new wrought iron gates to match the existing grade 2 fencing. The whole of the external access has received new block paving with inset floor lighting.
How did Novus overcome challenges?
The works were completed in a live environment. Novus carried out these with minimum disruption to the staff and general public. This was overcome using segregated walkways which were lit and formed openings in the existing perimeter fence, to create new access.
The works have given the entrance a much needed facelift, which blends in with the character of the listed building.
