As our first contract with client BT, we provided the internal refresh of a number of their Openreach facilities nationwide.
As our first contract with client BT, we provided the internal refresh of a number of their Openreach facilities nationwide.
What services did Novus provide?
Throughout the 12-month contract we completed a selection of refurbishments to improve working and breakout spaces.
Each Openreach facility was finished with modernised male and female toilets, including new flooring, LED lighting, ceilings, cubicles, sinks, vanity units, lit mirrors, and energy efficient hand dryers. We then reconfigured existing rooms to provide enhanced welfare spaces for on call engineers. These incorporated new flooring, LED lighting, ceilings, redecoration and a new kitchen layout with instant boiling and chilled water taps. The kitchens were also fitted with an additional breakfast bar and new charging points for electronic devices.
To the main work areas, we provided a co-ordinated meeting room with new lighting, flooring, ceilings, redecoration and upgraded power supplies to meet the demand of a larger space. We also installed 75-inch TVs for use in presentations. We then constructed one-to-one meeting rooms with similar facilities to provide a private location for confidential discussions.
Project Success
Each Openreach location varied in layout, and so the requirements for delivery also changed. In some instances, we could alter existing rooms to provide the desired facilities, however in others we needed to fully construct new rooms to meet BT’s required model.
Across the individual contracts, the works were carried out in live environments. We maintained the toilet and welfare facilities to ensure end users always had the required facilities, which involved the hiring in of external toilets when required.
We worked closely with onsite staff to ensure minimal disruption, which often meant being flexible with the programmed works to facilitate the client’s ongoing operational needs.
