The Second Build Back Better Challenge Winner is….
The judging panel have made their decision and we are delighted to announce that our second Build Back Better Challenge winner is…
Moor Trees!
The Novus judging panel have decided that Moor Trees – a Devon-based charity dedicated to recreating native woodland across Dartmoor and Devon – are the winners of the second Build Back Better Challenge. Congratulations!
They even have two nurseries that they use to grow their trees initially before planting them in new woodlands around South Brent, where one of our offices is located.
How will Novus Support Moor Trees?
Novus will be funding hundreds of trees to be planted across the region and a team of Novus volunteers will be giving up their time to help grow these trees.
We estimate that these trees will offset hundreds of tons of carbon emissions, which ultimately will equate to the size of the Novus Devon Operation in terms of energy, waste and vehicle usage.
Environmental Commitments
This project aligns perfectly with one of our key Build Back Better focus areas – having a positive impact on the environment.
As a responsible business, we want to help protect the planet and build a sustainable future for our colleagues, clients, customers, and supply chain, but like everyone we have a number of CO2 contributions.
Although since 2015 Novus has recorded a year-on-year reduction of our CO2 emissions through a range of measures, we want to go further which is why we have set ourselves 8 ambitious Environmental commitments, to find out more by clicking here.
The UK, alongside several other countries, have made a commitment to move to a ‘Net Zero’ emissions economy by 2050, as climate science showed that to halt climate change, carbon emissions have to STOP because just reducing them is not good enough.
Build Back Better Challenge
Congratulations again to Moor Trees!
