THE NOVUS EASTER BUNNIES SPREADS JOY TO LOCAL COMMUNITIES

Easter is a time of year that can be even more challenging for people and families struggling to afford food, which is why our employees (or Novus Easter Bunnies) across the country wanted to play their part in donating Easter Eggs to local Food Banks to support or Easter Appeal.
Poverty in the UK
According to the Social Metrics Commission report, 14.3 million people are in poverty in the UK, of which 8.3 million are working-age adults, 4.6 million are children, and 1.3 million are of pension age.
It is clear that from these figures, many people struggle to afford food and it’s estimated that over 500,000 people in the UK are now reliant on food parcels, with 2 million people in the UK deemed to be “undernourished”.
How Novus Have Been Helping this Easter
Below are just some of the highlights of how Novus teams throughout the UK helped to support our Food Bank (Easter) Appeal:
Our North Wales office donate 150 Easter Eggs to local food banks and charities
Our North Wales office have been busy collecting and delivering 150 Easter eggs to local food banks and charities in Bangor, Rhos and Wrexham. 110 of the chocolate eggs were sent to BAWSO, a charity which helps women and children who are suffering from domestic abuse. Donna Powell, Centre Manager was delighted by the donation and thanked the team for their generosity.

Donation of Easter Eggs and Food Parcels to Bangor Cathedral
After our £500 cash donation to Bangor Cathedral foodbank before Christmas, our North Wales team have been wanting to do more! Which is why Steve Owen, Senior Contracts Manager, Carolyn Ferris, Customer Liaison Officer, and Dylan Green an employee of our client, Adra, all visited the cathedral to meet the charities team and deliver Easter eggs and food parcels which were kindly donated by our North Wales office. |

Easter treats for charities in York
Our York office have also been busy participating in our Easter Appeal by generously donating over 70 chocolate eggs. The first donation of 30 eggs was made to the Beehive in York. This charity provides overnight short breaks for children and young people with complex disabilities. The next 20 eggs were donated by people involved in our Archers Housing contract in Sheffield, where we are currently replacing kitchens and bathrooms. These eggs have now been delivered to a local foodbank to help those in need. The final donation of a further 25 chocolate eggs, was donated to the Sheffield Children’s Hospital. |

Helping local food banks in Manchester
Whilst completing kitchen, lifecycle works and boiler installations for our client Jigsaw Homes, we have donated Easter eggs to the local food bank in Miles Platting, Manchester. We’re committed to helping those in need and we believe no one should be left out celebrating Easter! |

Contractors participate in Easter Appeal
Our contractors, West Midlands Electrical Ltd, who have supported us on the Burcot Lane project for Bromsgrove District Housing Trust have donated lots of chocolate treats to help support our Easter Appeal! These chocolate eggs were given out to the children that attended or Easter fun day on Wednesday 15th April. |

Easter Baskets Donated to Help Tackle Poverty
Our North Midlands team and client South Derbyshire District Council have been busy creating vegetable and fruit baskets, which have now been delivered to five different sheltered schemes in and around Swadlincote. Not only will this help to promote healthy eating and living well, but it also helps those most in need by tackling local poverty. |

Our staff at our Leighton Buzzard office have collected and donated a large number of Easter eggs. They have now been delivered to local charities within the area to help spread some joy this Easter. |

Novus supports Cornerstone Day Centre in Manchester
Before the Easter break our North West team generously donated Easter Eggs to the Cornerstone Day Centre in Manchester. The charity supports those people that are homeless and provides them with safe and secure accommodation. The Day Centre Manager Sophie said: “Thank you again for the Easter Egg donations. They have gone down very well this afternoon. It was a nice send off to everyone for the long weekend.” |

Easter fun day for local residents
We held an Easter fun day in partnership with our clients Bromsgrove District Housing Trust at The Burcot Lane Estate. The event allowed local residents to get together and have some fun! The children especially loved the bouncy castle and Easter eggs. |

Donation of Easter Eggs to Trent & Dove Tenants
Our Burton team along with subcontractors, got into the Easter sprit this month by donating chocolate eggs to the most vulnerable Trent and Dove tenants. The Novus Bear made an appearance and helped out delivering the eggs to local children and adults. |

We’re proud to have donated Easter eggs to North Manchester General Hospital patients this month. Our team made it even more special for the children on the ward by dressing up as a spring chick! |

Scotland care homes receive Easter Egg donations
Our Scotland team have been busy supplying Ardencraig Care Home in Castlemilk, Glasgow with a number of Easter Eggs for their residents. The home cares for the elderly as well as younger adults that need mental health support. In addition to this, the team also visited Netherton Court Care Home in Wishaw to deliver more chocolate eggs. Clinical Nurse Manager, Kate McIntyre commented: “The residents were delighted. The donation of the Easter Eggs from Novus was very thoughtful.” |
