SOPHIE SEDDON-HALL TO LEAD FAMILY BUSINESS WORKSHOP IN JUNE

We’re proud to be leading the way for family business and culture in the construction industry, and our Non-Executive Director and fifth generation family member Sophie Seddon-Hall is set to lead a workshop at the Family Business UK Annual Conference 2025.
Sophie will be hosting the workshop alongside her father Stuart Seddon and daughter Olivia Seddon, who joined Novus in 2024 as the first sixth generation family member to work for Novus. Taking place at The Midland Hotel in Manchester on 6th June, the workshop will focus on what is the secret to passing on a family business successfully, ensuring you stay relevant, and combining the wisdom from the past with ideas for the future.
The workshop closely follows Sophie being selected to take part in a panel discussion on workplace culture and leadership at UK Construction Week in May, which saw leading figures from across the construction industry under one roof to network, exhibit, and discover the latest developments through an extensive seminar programme. The successful panel discussion was titled ‘Culture is built at the top: leadership’s role in industry change’, and centred on workplace culture starting with leadership, with talking points including what makes a great leader and how they can create real cultural change within the business.
Sophie is ideally placed to lead discussions on family business and business culture, and she plays an active role in our people strategy here at Novus. A key aspect of her role as Non-Executive Director, as well as her position as a fifth generation family member, is to ensure that we as a business live our people-centric values as well as building on the strong legacy her grandfather, ‘Mr’ John Seddon, left for future generations prior to his recent retirement.
