Novus wins Big Tick award
As part of the prestigious Responsible Business Awards 2014, we have been recognised with a Big Tick award.

The awards, run by charity Business in the Community, is the UK’s longest-running and most respected awards scheme, which recognises those businesses that are making a positive difference to society and the environment.

We achieved the Big Tick award – the first level of accolade at the awards – in the Santander Responsible Small Business category, which aims to recognise companies that demonstrate a holistic, responsible approach to business in the areas of community, environment, marketplace and amongst their workforce.

A Big Tick is a leading endorsement of responsible business, and companies are awarded for initiatives tackling a range of issues: from stimulating local or rural communities, building long-term partnerships with schools, inspiring young talent, to embedding environmental sustainability into how products and services are used by customers.

Representatives from Novus, including our chairman Stuart Seddon and managing director Neil Hand, were presented with the Big Tick trophy at the West Midlands Responsible Business Awards Gala Dinner on the 11th June at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham.

We have also been shortlisted to present our programme of work in the Responsible Small Business category to a select group of senior business peers to help identify an overall winner in the category. Winners will be announced in London at Business in the Community’s National Awards Gala Dinner, in the presence of HRH The Prince of Wales on 8 July 2014.

Stuart Seddon said: “At Novus, we work hard to make a difference to society and to the environments within which we work and are pleased that our impact and efforts have been acknowledged by Business in the Community. We are proud to have won a Big Tick award and to have been shortlisted in the Responsible Small Business Category and will continue to make a difference and bring about change wherever we can.”

Stephen Howard, chief executive at Business in the Community, said: “The Responsible Business Awards shine a much needed spotlight on the powerful impact of business. Each of the companies recognised are playing their part to build a new contract between business and society and a more sustainable future for us all. I congratulate Novus for its Big Tick, which is a powerful symbol of business doing more to bring about change.”
