Novus South Brent Supporting Food Banks in Devon and Cornwall

Supporting their local community, Novus South Brent office continue to help food banks across the Devon and Cornwall areas through various CSR initiatives.

£5000 Donated to Food Shelters

A total of £5,000 has been donated to food shelters across the region, with £1,250 each going to community causes in Plymouth and Cornwall, and £2,500 donated to The Guinness Partnership to support the work it does with partners to provide access to food for those that need it.

Guinness currently supports seven food pantries across the country and recently set up a number of dry food stores to enable residents in sheltered housing schemes to access emergency food more easily during lockdown.

The Plymouth food bank currently provides 215 meals per week throughout the community and over the festive period in 2020; 130 Christmas Day dinners.

Alistair Smyth, Director of External Affairs and Social Investment at The Guinness Partnership commented:

“We are very grateful to receive this donation from Novus. During the pandemic we have been able to help hundreds of families across the country to access food through the network of food pantries and food banks we support. We will continue to work with partners to offer this support where it’s needed in our local communities.”

Social Value and CSR Partner Kev Rhone said:

“To date we have supported over 20 Food Banks across the country and our Novus Devon office really thrown their weight behind supporting this Appeal! In total they have donated £5000 to supporting food bank initiatives across Devon and Cornwall.”
