Novus says "you're hired" to local apprentices /

Novus says
Students across the UK who want to learn a trade are being encouraged to sign up to Novus Property Solutions’ prestigious apprenticeship scheme by our managing director, who himself joined the programme over 30 years ago.
Neil Hand was just 16 when he was taken on under a painting and decorating apprenticeship and has since gone on to oversee the continued development of the property maintenance specialist that now employs over 1,000 people from 30 offices across the UK.
Most recently, he has played a significant role in the rebranding of the business after it changed its name from Seddon Property Services after splintering from the Seddon Group.
Neil comments: “Supporting the next generation of tradespeople is integral to our business and it is something we have successfully done for over 75 years now. When I joined the company over 30 years ago, I never thought I would become the joint MD, but it’s testament to the support network provided by the company that I was able to do so.”
He added: “The scheme is a fantastic chance for young people with the right attitude and potential to start to build a career with our support.”
There are apprenticeships in trades including bricklaying, plumbing, plastering, carpentry and joinery, painting and decorating and maintenance. The company’s apprentices are guided by an apprentice manager who mentors them throughout their training and supports their college-based learning. On site they work alongside qualified tradespeople and benefit from their expertise.
This year’s deadline for applications is 21st June. Candidates must be available for selection trials in August 2013 and ready to enrol for their college course in September 2013. To find out more about how to apply please contact Jackie Budden on or 01782 598000.
