Novus names Apprentice of the Year
We are continuing to invest in our pioneering apprenticeship scheme by naming Gareth Ellor as our Apprentice of the Year 2013 award winner.
Our chairman Stuart Seddon handed the accolade to Gareth, who has worked from our Manchester base since 2011, for his eager attitude and commitment in the role.
Gareth, who has been involved in projects for clients including Whitbread and Irwell Valley Housing Association, was also recognised for his excellent attendance and punctuality records and for his ambitions to climb up the career ladder at Novus.
The 23-year-old painter and decorator recently completed his NVQ Level 3 qualification in Decorative Finishing and Industrial Painting and hopes to complete additional courses so he can eventually move into more senior roles.
Gareth, who lives in Heaviley in Stockport, was presented with his award by Stuart Seddon at a ceremony at the Potters Club in Stoke, which was also attended by Gareth’s operations manager Andy Fisher and by the Novus training team.
Gareth said: “Winning the Novus Apprentice of the Year award is a real step in the right direction for me – it’s made me more confident about the work I’ve done and about the work I will carry out in the future. I hope the award will help me to move forward onto new challenges with Novus and give me a boost up the career ladder.”
Stuart Seddon said: “Since he began working with Novus, Gareth has shown nothing but commitment, professionalism and ability so it’s with great pleasure that I hand over the award to him for his impressive efforts.
“We are very proud of our apprenticeship scheme here at Novus and it’s always rewarding to see young people make such an excellent start in their career – Gareth is a great example to all of our apprentices and trainees.”
