Novus Launch New Volunteer Hero Initiative with Community Clean Up
As part of the Build Back Better campaign, Novus are launching their “Volunteer Hero” Initiative, which will see all Novus employees actively encouraged to undertake volunteer work in their local communities during ordinary work hours.
Stoke on Trent Community Clean Up
To launch the new Volunteer Hero campaign, Novus’s team of 16 litter-picking volunteers from the Stoke office travelled a short distance to the Scotia Valley area in Stoke-on-Trent.
There, they volunteered their time to help clean up the environment between Pitts Hill Pools and Scotia Brook.
This litter pick and clean up formed part of Novus’s CSR commitments with Unitas, and after consultation with the council, the volunteers got to work.
During the morning, dog walkers and joggers were seen making use of the path ways, which provide a green space for residents in the area to enjoy.
“We really appreciate the time and effort that the volunteers put in to helping to clean up the Scotia Valley. The site is a haven for wildlife and will benefit from having their habitat improved” said Helen Meharg, Countryside Team Leader at City of Stoke on Trent Council.
This is just one of the community clean ups that we have planned this year, look out for updates throughout 2021 on this website and via our social media channels.
Volunteer Hero Initiative
This month, Novus are proud to announce the launch of our new Volunteering Policy – The Volunteer Hero Initiative.
Every employee will be offered the chance (and encouraged) to volunteer 8 hours of their time, the cost of which will be covered by the business.
Novus colleagues will be given the freedom to choose any community project, charity, or good cause that they feel would benefit from their skills and volunteer time.
The new initiative is just one of the ways that Novus are trying to make a big difference to the communities in which we operate.
