Novus helps nursery celebrate eco status /

We have helped a nursery school celebrate its eco status with the donation of a flag pole.
We stepped up to the mark after Acredyke Nursery School, in Robroyston, Glasgow, was awarded a Green Flag by the Keep Scotland Beautiful initiative after staff, children and parents took part in recycling and litter picking tasks.
To register for the eco-school status, the school had to establish an eco-committee consisting of staff, children, parents and the wider community.
The children recycled paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and unwanted clothes to earn the Green Flag award. They also took part in two big litter picks with their local Community Action Team and Glasgow Community and Safety Services and have planted flowers and vegetables at their school.
Paula Shutt, Novus customer and community manager, said: “We were delighted to support the Acredyke Nursery School.
“The dedicated staff, children and their families at the school worked really hard to receive this prestigious award and it was an honour to be able to help them achieve their goal in flying their flag by donating the flag pole.
“The children had fun marking the raising of the flag and all wore green clothes, had green flags painted on their faces and ate green foods at the event.”
