Novus Awarded Significant Passive Fire Protection Contract

Novus has been awarded a significant passive fire protection contract with a major city council in central England, valued at approximately £2.5 million over a five-year period.

Passive Fire Protection

The contract comes at a time of significant growth for Novus, with the company recently announcing its strategic growth plan to further strengthen its presence in its key sectors of housing, education, healthcare, construction and compliance services.

As part of its work with this council, Novus will install external composite FD30s fire resisting doorsets and windows across the authority’s extensive housing stock.

Throughout the contract, Novus will be responsible for carrying out surveys, installing the fire resistant doors and windows, third party certification, and disposing of the existing doors and windows of each property.

Work recently commenced on the first set of properties, with Novus’ expert team surveying the first batch of doors in preparation for manufacture; installations are to begin within the next two months.

Project completion is due to take place in March 2024, with the option to extend the contract until March 2026.

Committed to Customer Service

As part of its commitment to delivering high levels of customer service to not only its clients but also to end-users, Novus has appointed a contract liaison officer to carry out the initial notification process for residents and to answer any questions they may have.

The contractor will also organise coffee mornings for residents once the project moves to residential blocks with communal spaces, providing the opportunity for them to become familiarised with Novus’ team and how the work will be carried out.

Novus Property Solutions’ senior operations manager, Darren Bowkett, said:

“This contract with a major council in central England is a fantastic win for Novus’ East Midlands region, and will allow us to further demonstrate our expertise in passive fire protection services.

“Giving back to the communities in which we work is a key value of Novus as a business, and the length of this project – three years, with the option to extend for a further two years – will allow us to provide consistent employment opportunities within the area, and also to carry out social value initiatives locally. We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with both the council and the local community, while delivering passive fire protection services to the highest standard.”
