Campaign reaches target to improve 20K lives
Our hugely successful Changing Lives initiative has met its ambitious target to improve and transform the lives of more than 20,000 people since it was launched at the start of 2015.
We aimed to make a positive contribution to the communities in which we operate and over the last two years through our Changing Lives programme we have organised hundreds of volunteer projects from employment opportunities and skills development activities to community projects designed to tackle local issues. Our employees have also raised and donated more than £110,000 for a variety of charities and good causes.
As part of the campaign, last year we ran eight separate social media competitions which aimed to recognise the little things that make a big difference to people’s everyday lives. The competitions attracted hundreds of entries and we donated £1,800 in total to 13 different charities selected by the winners.
The Changing Lives campaign reflects the core ethos of our brand, and our entire workforce is encouraged to get involved by contributing ideas for campaign activities, as well as volunteering their time and energy.
Our head of social value Kevin Rhone, said: “Changing Lives has been a huge success since its launch back in 2015 and I’m so proud of the way everyone has come together to hit the ambitious target we set for both years.”
“Not only does the campaign help us to deliver some great work within communities, but it also helps to build a real sense of pride amongst our staff. By helping people in their local area, the teams at Novus are building strong relationships with people and organisations, and we’re looking forward to continuing the great work for the future.”
