Wrexham County Borough Council acknowledged for transforming a run down Community Centre into a inspiring venue
This year the Novus Excellence Awards highlighted some of the most inspiring of our Changing Lives projects, which have taken place throughout the year. The aim of these Changing Lives Awards was to acknowledge and highlight some of the most inspiring stories and to acknowledge the individuals and teams who have played a key role in making a difference. We asked our employees to put forward the Changing Lives projects they were most proud and the Wrexham County Borough Partnership was one of ten Changing Lives projects acknowledged.

The team from our Wrexham office, together with Wrexham County Borough Council, enlisted the help of residents to transform the Pentre Gwyn Community Centre. Novus enlisted the help of volunteers from the local community including the Youth Justice Service, local youth club and local supply chain (even current Welsh international, Christian Roberts) to totally transform a run down community centre. Extensive improvements were made, creating a modern facility that the local community can be proud of.

“All our thanks should go to all the numerous groups who’ve been involved. Their hard work really is appreciated and I’m sure the regular users of the centre will be very pleased with the improved facilities. I’d like to thank Novus who’ve carried out the work and arranged for all the volunteers and suppliers to take part“ Brian Cameron, Local Councillor
