Home Group acknowledged for changing lives through providing employment and skills development opportunities /
This year the Novus Excellence Awards highlighted some of the most inspiring of our Changing Lives projects, which have taken place throughout the year. The aim of these Changing Lives Awards was to acknowledge and highlight some of the most inspiring stories and to acknowledge the individuals and teams who have played a key role in making a difference. We asked our employees to put forward the Changing Lives projects they were most proud and the Home Group Partnership was one of ten Changing Lives projects acknowledged.
Novus Scotland, in partnership with Home Group have provided 13 young people with employment during 2015 - that’s more than any other Novus contract. To help identify the young people in most need of an employment, opportunity partnerships have been developed with a number of education and training organisations (B.L.E.S.S Training is a social enterprise and West Lothian College being two key partners). Recently a resident DIY Skills Development workshop was also organised by Novus and Home at community centre in Castlemilk, Glasgow, offering employment and skills development opportunities to customers.
