Business Class Partnership acknowledged for working in collaboration and making a difference to thousands of pupil’s across Stoke-on-Trent /
This year the Novus Excellence Awards highlighted some of the most inspiring of our Changing Lives projects, which have taken place throughout the year. The aim of these Changing Lives Awards was to acknowledge and highlight some of the most inspiring stories and to acknowledge the individuals and teams who have played a key role in making a difference. We asked our employees to put forward the Changing Lives projects they were most proud and the Business in the Community, Business Class Programme was one of ten Changing Lives projects acknowledged.
The Novus Chairman, Stuart Seddon in partnership with Business in the Community have developed an inovative
‘cluster’ of business and school partnerships across Stoke-on-Trent. 8 partnerships have been established with each business committed to a 3 year partnership to support their school partner to improve performance for the benefit of their pupils. Support projects have taken place ranging from strategic advise, to mentoring, to skills projects to volunteer challenges to improve school facilities; and in 2014/15 the businesses in the Cluster volunteered 1718 hours supporting 3065 pupils helping improving academic achievement and increase students employability.
