Novus team run Potters Arf for UHNS Charity
A team of Novus employees led by Director Chris Walford joined 2000 other runners and took part in the Potters Arf Marathon to raise money for charity. The Novus team raised £1250 for a the University Hospital of North Staffordshire Charity (UHNS Charity). Novus employees across the country take part in challenges for charity all year round and this challenge is a great example of what our employees can achieve for charity when they set their mind to it!
Chris Walford along with Matt Harnett (Bid Manager) Vicky Prescott (Subcontractor Department), Matt Cornish (Accounts), Gary Clay (Quantity Surveyor), Jimmy Philips (Site Manager) and Craig Martin (Painter) made up the Novus team. The group decided they wanted to support a local charity and as everyone had been touched in some way by the hospital they all decided on this as their charity.
Chris commented: "The money we have raised will go towards the Cancer Centre at the Hospital. We are very proud to have raised this money for the Centre. Cancer affects one in three people, which is why the service and treatment that the Cancer Centre provides is so important."
Steve Rushton, Charitable Funds Manager, said: "Everyone is rightly proud of our Cancer Centre and it is generous donations like this that will help improve the care and treatment even further."
