Project Description: Joint Funded University Partnership Programme and Nottingham Trent University

This project for Nottingham Trent University meant keeping to a very tight schedule. In just 16 weeks, we had to carry out an extensive list of works that involved window replacement and internal refurbishment of 109 bedrooms and communal areas.

The refurbishment included new flooring coverings and redecorating throughout – and radiators had to be relocated to accommodate the new windows. The ground floor of the building also had to be completely reconfigured to allow for the creation of a new medical centre to HTM specification - and on top of all this we had to complete external landscaping works.

What’s more, the contract had to be carried out with students actually in residence, which demanded a strong emphasis on Health & Safety and working considerately in order to minimise disruption to daily life.

In meeting all these demands, we also adhered to our own policy of Corporate Social Responsibility. All radiators and copper piping we removed was sent for recycling, in line with our commitment to sustainability and the environment.

We also employed local labour on the contract, along with junior employees from our internal apprenticeship programme.
