Project Description: JCT 05 Minor Works

Our work often takes us into specialised areas where a sensitive approach is required. Our client, Langley Hall Trust, is a resettlement project that offers ex-offenders care and support in semi-independent accommodation. Often, this is their first step back into mainstream society, and it prepares them to readjust within a safe environment.

The contract at their Ashdene home in Wakefield involved a wide range of tasks including repair works, replacement of fascia boards and rainwater goods in uPVC, roof repair, and external and internal redecoration.
Given the nature and purpose of the accommodation, the workload programmes were constantly changing, which demanded a high level of flexibility and close co-operation and communication between ourselves and our client.

It was also important to treat all residents with due respect and courtesy, which is something we pride ourselves on, regardless of the environment. The client described this as ‘first class’. We were also complimented on our excellent team work and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.

At Novus, we have a long history of working closely with local communities. Not only in the business sense, but wherever we feel able to make a difference to the lives of others – especially those experiencing difficulties.
