Sustain: helping the housing sector achieve a sustainable future
Decarbonisation remains a widely discussed topic within the construction industry, including across the housing sector. Achieving carbon neutral homes is a major aspect of the government’s Net Zero targets, resulting in the introduction of funding schemes to support housing associations and local authorities in decarbonising their existing assets.
Engagement across the industry is key for ensuring these targets are achieved, with events like Retrofit Action Week, which took place in the West Midlands earlier this month and will also be in Greater Manchester in October, shining a spotlight on the role decarbonisation retrofit programmes can play in securing a more sustainable future for the housing sector.
At Novus, we’re proud to be playing our part in creating carbon neutral homes through our dedicated Sustain service. Here’s everything you need to know about our one-stop-shop decarbonisation retrofit service.
What is it?
Sustain provides an end-to-end Trustmark approved and PAS2030/2035 accredited retrofit service to assess stock, generate proposals, assist with grant funding applications, and complete works on site. We are currently delivering £36 million of Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) funded projects to bring over 1,500 homes to EPC or above, and have achieved 100% compliance across all installations to date.
How does it work?
Our Sustain service adopts a partnership approach with housing association and local authority clients, allowing our expert team to carry out a complete service from identifying the most suitable stock for retrofit to delivery and monitoring.
We’re proud to offer a highly comprehensive service whereby we can step in at any time, from identifying the most suitable properties within housing portfolios to assisting with funding applications and installing the specified measures. We have a range of expert partners, all PAS2035 qualified and experienced at delivering retrofit services, and are proud to have achieved 100% compliance for our clients on all properties handed over.
We also provide Data Warehouse lodgement, monitoring and evaluation.
