Novus Success Story – Terrie Brett

This week is National Apprenticeship Week in the UK and we are celebrating the success of our Client Client Liaison Manager, Terrie Brett.

Over to you Terrie…

I joined J&S Seddon Painting 21 years ago as an Administrator in Bulwell. Over the years I have always felt a valued member of the team almost to the point I’d describe them as my second family. I’ve always loved building strong relationships and I’d say that’s why I’ve been able to work so well with our customers.

I’ve developed my skills during my time by studying a variety of NVQs and also learning from the teams around me.

  • Level 3 in Customer Service
  • Level 3 in Business Administration
  • Level 3 in Management

Exposure is really key to learning – it’s not always about how many hours you spend in the classroom.

I’m proud to say that I’ve built our customer care department and grown this to a successful multi-regional department in my time. I have lots of input to the wider business offering whilst managing seven client liaison officers who take pride in delivering the best service to our customers.

Since joining I’ve also become a Mum, to Finley aged eight and Ava aged five. I love spending time with them and I’m really thankful that the business offered me the flexibility to take time out and to return to my role.

Advice I’d give to any apprentice starting on their journey:

  • Try and find joy in the day! It may be cold, it may be hard work, but being happy and smiling can make a difference to your day.
  • Get stuck in! There is so much to learn here at Novus and you will always have the opportunity to work as a team and help out.
  • Help people! I always aim to help where I can as I believe this will be returned if I ever need help.
  • Ask questions! When you’re an apprentice, no question is a silly question, you don’t need to pretend that you know all of the answers…you’re just starting out!

National Apprenticeship Week

Between 7th-13th February we’ve be celebrating all-things apprenticeships and posting special content that will hopefully inspire young people to take up a place on the Novus apprenticeship scheme. Take a look at some of our blogs below!

We’re delighted to have had a successful presence at Housing 2024, a key event in our annual calendar. The three-day event sees stakeholders from across the housing sector come together at Manchester Central to discuss and collaborate to identify solutions.
