Novus Launches 2022 Food Bank Appeal

We are thrilled to have launched our 2022 food bank appeal!
Across the UK, 14.3 million people are in poverty. 8.3 million are working-age adults, 4.6 million are children, and 1.3 million are of pension age. With these figures, many people struggle to afford food. It is estimated that over 500,000 people in the UK are now reliant on food parcels, with 2 million people in the UK deemed as undernourished.
It is because of these alarming statistics that back in 2020, 32% of Novus colleagues voted that we should be supporting local food banks as part of our wider Build Back Better initiative.
Our teams are already getting stuck in, with plans to support food banks up and down the country over the festive period and beyond. Below are just some of the current highlights:
Gateshead team make a Food Donation to #TheFeedingFamiliesCharity

The items donated are being used to make hampers for local families.

Introducing our Apprentice of the Year: Lily Davies
This week is National Apprenticeship Week, so we’re shining the spotlight on one of Novus’ true rising stars – and recent winner of our Apprentice of the Year’ trophy at the Novus Awards – Lily Davies, who is working with us as a Junior Bid Writer.
We asked Lily to tell us about her journey so far, and her aspirations for the future – and what she would tell people considering beginning their own apprenticeship journey in our sector.
