Celebrating ‘Mr’ John Seddon’s legacy for future generations

Following the recent announcement that ‘captain of industry’ John Seddon has retired from his position as Non-executive Director at Novus Property Solutions’ parent company the JSSH Group, we’re celebrating the legacy he has left for future generations.

‘Mr’ John Seddon was the third generation of the family to join the business, which has a rich 128-year history, when he started work as an apprentice bricklayer in 1952. Since then, Mr John has overseen the business as it has gone from strength to strength, including the formation of Novus Property Solutions as a separate entity 12 years ago.

Under his guidance, Novus has evolved into a leading national contractor specialising in maintenance and decarbonisation across a variety of sectors including housing, healthcare, education and hotels. In 2024, Mr John’s final year in an active role in the company, we proudly achieved several milestones, including securing our highest value contract to date and welcoming a sixth-generation family member to the business.

Olivia Seddon, Mr John’s great-granddaughter, joined us as a Trainee Customer Liaison Officer, marking the start of the next phase in the future of the business which remains secure due to his guidance throughout his tenure. Despite his retirement, the family patriarch will remain on hand to offer guidance and support to shareholders and fifth and sixth generation family members.

While we remain ambitious in further building upon the legacy built by Mr John, his family values and people-centric approach will always remain at the heart of our success.
